“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1)

You know that old saying, “with friends like that who needs enemies??”  … Well, that doesn’t really apply to this verse at all, but it does make me think of a new saying that you might find helpful …  “with a GOD like that, who needs to WORRY??”

Truly, when you and I ponder – even for just a moment – all the power, might, wisdom and authority that our God commands, and when we realize that He has created the universe with us in mind, and when we realize that He has promised to work all things together for the good of those who love Him, and when we realize that He has promised never to leave nor forsake us … why would we ever worry?  There is just no circumstance that we would encounter that is bigger than our God, or out of His reach!

All of these things that I mentioned, however – in which we take courage and on which we place our hope – are taken on faith.  We must simply believe – like a child – that what God says in the Bible is true, and that because He has promised them, they are as certain as things we can see with our eyes.  In other words, we trust our faith as if we could see with our eyes – even more sometimes!

My prayer for you today is that you would walk by faith, and not by sight – believing that God’s promises for you are already yours!

Have a great day in the Lord!

Peace in Christ,
